One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is about
a daily skin care routine. Many people are confused about
the order in which to apply products. Here is a basic
reference to follow to achieve the best results from your
skin care. STEP 1: Cleanser
Using a product that is intended for the face is
recommended both morning and night. Cleansing removes
make-up, oils and impurities, therefore reducing surface
buildup and allowing the pores to breathe.
STEP 2: Toner
Completes the cleansing process by removing any impurities
remaining from cleansing and restores the acid balance to
prepare the skin for following treatments and moisturizer.
STEP 3: Serums & Special Treatments
Eye creams, AHA or anti-aging serums, acne creams or other
treatments should be applied after cleansing and toning
while the face is still moist.
STEP 4: Moisturizer
Serves to hydrate and protect the skin. Select a moisturizer
based on skin type and needs. Day creams are light formulas
that usually include sun protection, while night creams are
thicker and do not provide any protection. Allow moisturizer
to absorb for several minutes prior to using cosmetics.
Supplemental Treatments
- Exfoliation - Only recommended once to twice per
week. Follow regular cleansing with an exfoliator. *If
you are using AHA serums on a regular basis additional
exfoliation is not necessary or should be used with
caution to avoid skin irritation.
- Masks - May be utilized once to twice per week.
Apply after cleansing and exfoliating skin. After
removal, follow with toner.
